Pilgrim’s Progress Women’s Study
The women of Old Goshenhoppen meet on Fridays for Bible study and fellowship. All twelve sessions of our study of The Pilgrim’s Progress are online for you to watch.
From the City of Destruction to the Celestial City
John Bunyan began The Pilgrim’s Progress while imprisoned for preaching the gospel, and it was first published in 1678. His pilgrim, Christian, flees the City of Destruction with a heavy burden on his back, and it falls away only at the cross.
Our study follows Christian’s journey with an open Bible, tracing the doctrines Bunyan pictured so memorably: our sin and helplessness, the grace of God alone in Jesus Christ, and His faithfulness to bring His pilgrims safely home.
But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.Hebrews 11:16
