Why we gather
Iron sharpens iron
God calls men to love their wives as Christ loved the church, to bring up their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, and to serve His people with humility (Ephesians 5:25; 6:4). None of us does this well in our own strength.
So we gather around a table and a good book, under the authority of God’s Word, to sharpen one another, to confess our need of grace, and to pray for our homes, our church and one another.
Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.Proverbs 27:17
