Since 1727
Rooted in History
Anchored in the Word
A historic Reformed church in Harleysville, PA, striving to stay faithful through the preached Word, weekly communion, prayer, and the fellowship of the saints. Join us this Lord’s Day at 10 AM.
By God’s grace, God’s Word is preached faithfully and expositionally every Lord’s Day, now through the Gospel of Luke, with Sunday School for adults at 9 AM.
A multigenerational church family, young and old, worshiping together and sharing a communal meal after worship on most Sundays.
The Lord’s Supper, served every Lord’s Day in morning worship, a visible sign and seal of Christ’s promises to His people.
Prayer throughout worship, a prayer meeting each Sunday at 8:30 AM, and prayer requests welcome at any time.
Rooted since 1727, still gathering
On October 12, 1727, Reformed settlers from the Palatinate received communion on these shores. In 1732 Reformed and Lutheran families together bought these grounds and raised a union church, and in 1744 they began the stone church, dedicated in 1746. Remodeled in 1858 and again in 1915, it still stands on that foundation, and the Goshenhoppen people still gather here every Lord's Day.
Every church passes through many seasons, and God has been faithful through them all. Today, resting on the gospel of grace alone in Christ, we strive to worship God with reverence and awe (Hebrews 12:28) and to stay faithful to His Word through the storms of our day. Worship is simple, not a performance: the Word preached, Psalms and hymns sung, prayer, the Lord's Table every Lord's Day, and a communal meal together after worship on most Sundays.
- Come a few minutes early and sit wherever you like.
- Worship is upstairs in the sanctuary, where we come before a holy God to hear Him speak: Scripture, prayer, hymns and Psalms, the sermon and the Lord’s Supper.
- In worship we come before the King, so dress with reverence. Whether in your Sunday best or simpler clothes, you are welcome.
- Stay for the communal meal after worship on most Sundays.
Nearly three centuries on Church Road
In November 1725, German Reformed settlers gathered in a barn in the Skippack region, just a few miles away, where John Boehm presided over communion. In 1727 they joined Reformed settlers from the Palatinate who received the Lord's Supper as they stepped off the boats. Together they became the Goshenhoppen people. These grounds still hold their church, their schoolhouse and their graves.

Three hundred years of God's faithfulness
October 12, 2027 marks 300 years since Rev. George Michael Weiss gave communion to the Goshenhoppen people, Reformed settlers from the Palatinate, as they stepped off the boats onto these shores.
