Rooted since 1727, still gathering
Since then the Goshenhoppen people have gathered every Lord's Day, on these grounds since 1732, and God has been faithful through every season. Today, resting on the gospel of grace alone in Christ, we strive to worship God with reverence and awe (Hebrews 12:28) and to stay faithful to His Word through the storms of our day.
Worship is simple, not a performance: the Word preached, Psalms and hymns sung, prayer, and the Lord's Table each week.
- Come a few minutes early and sit wherever you like.
- Worship is upstairs in the sanctuary, where we come before a holy God to hear Him speak: Scripture, prayer, hymns and Psalms, the sermon and the Lord’s Supper.
- In worship we come before the King, so dress with reverence. Whether in your Sunday best or simpler clothes, you are welcome.
- Stay for our fellowship meal after worship; all are welcome. Visiting? Come empty-handed; we’d love to bless you with a meal.
By God’s grace, God’s Word is preached faithfully every Lord’s Day in expository sermons, now through the Gospel of Luke, with Sunday School for adults at 9 AM.
A multigenerational church family, young and old, worshiping together and sharing a fellowship meal immediately following worship every Lord’s Day.
The Lord’s Supper, served every Lord’s Day in morning worship, a visible sign and seal of Christ’s promises to His people.
Prayer throughout worship, a prayer meeting each Sunday at 8:30 AM, and prayer requests welcome at any time.
Nearly three centuries on Church Road
In 1727 Rev. George Michael Weiss, newly arrived from the Palatinate, preached to the Goshenhoppen settlers and gave them the Lord's Supper, and they grew into one people, the Goshenhoppen people. Today's church stands on the foundation of the stone church they began in 1744, and these grounds still hold their schoolhouse and their graves.
Three hundred years of God's faithfulness
Soon we will mark 300 years since Rev. George Michael Weiss first preached to the Goshenhoppen people and gave them the Lord's Supper.
